Argentine Torrontes Mendoza Best Torrontes

Our vineyard's location in the Valle de Uco is higher and about 10F cooler than the average for Mendoza. These cooler temperatures along with the four rivers that run through the property allow the fruit to slowly ripen and take on the character of the soil. The sandy, gravel soil on top of the solid granite bedrock make the vines struggle to yield their best.

Torrontes is a grape whose profile and aromatics are all over the board. The winemakers's job is to reign this in both during the growing season and in the winemaking. The Ikal 1150 Torrontes tightly balances complimentary aromatics on the nose and on the palette.

Tasting Notes

Our expression of this uniquely Argentine grape starts with its golden straw color. On the nose, floral notes with citrus, pear, honey and minerality (crushed granite, river-stone, and flint). Soft, dry, and pleasing on the mineral driven palette. A clean finish with citrus and honey that mirror the nose.
